Standfast Veterans Group is a veteran-owned CRSC packet-preparation company founded by a combat-disabled Army Infantry retiree. Flat fee, never a percentage of your back pay.

Home of the Infantry, and a lot of Infantry retirees

Fort Benning, renamed in 2025 in honor of Cpl. Fred G. Benning, is the Army's Maneuver Center of Excellence: the schoolhouse for Infantry and Armor, Airborne and Ranger training, and home to Ranger Regiment units. Many soldiers who passed through as trainees came back as cadre and then retired nearby. Our founder is an Infantry retiree himself, so this is a community we understand from the inside.

Infantry and Armor careers produce the kinds of injuries CRSC was written for, but they also produce the kinds of claims boards deny. A documented IED blast, a parachute landing injury recorded at the time, or a range accident with a report behind it is a very different claim from "my knees wore out over twenty years." Gradual wear and tear from rucks and body armor, without a documented event or qualifying duty, is a common reason for denial. We help you separate the two before you file.

Fact patterns we look at for Benning retirees

What the board actually decides

CRSC is a tax-free monthly payment for eligible retirees whose retired pay is reduced by VA disability compensation. Your branch does not re-rate you. It decides whether each VA-rated condition was combat-related under 10 U.S.C. § 1413a, based on credible documents. For Army retirees that decision is made by the CRSC branch at Human Resources Command. Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force retirees in the Columbus area file with their own service's board. See our Army CRSC guide.

Local resources worth knowing

The installation's Retirement Services Office can help with retired pay, SBP and retiree benefits questions. VA health care facilities serve the Columbus area for treatment and records. For VA disability claims, use a county veterans service officer or an accredited Veterans Service Organization; Standfast does not file VA claims. When CRSC is approved, DFAS handles payment and you can track it in myPay. We focus on one thing: a CRSC packet the board can follow.

How it works

  1. Start with the 30-second quiz or a free 15-minute review.
  2. Upload your DD-214, VA rating decisions and any prior CRSC decision letters.
  3. We give you a straight read on what looks combat-related and provable.
  4. If it makes sense, we build your packet for a flat fee. You sign and submit it.

Already denied? Our reconsideration service rebuilds the claim around what the decision letter said was missing.

What we do

Frequently asked questions

Is it Fort Benning or Fort Moore?

The post was renamed Fort Moore in 2023 and renamed Fort Benning in 2025, this time honoring Cpl. Fred G. Benning. The name on your records does not affect your CRSC claim.

Do parachute injuries automatically qualify for CRSC?

No condition qualifies automatically. Airborne duty can support a hazardous service determination when your records document the jump and the injury. Your branch decides each condition based on the evidence.

Can Standfast file my VA disability claim?

No. We prepare CRSC packets only. We are not a VSO, law firm or VA-accredited agent. For VA claims, use an accredited representative such as a county veterans service officer.

Do I need to meet in person?

No. We work 100% remotely with retirees nationwide by phone, email and secure upload.

Local or nationwide, start with a free review.

Everything is done by phone, email and secure file sharing, so where you live never limits the help. Tell us your situation and we will give you a straight, vet-to-vet read on whether CRSC looks like a fit.
